ERIKA PAUL CARLSON’S MUSIC IN JULY
July kept Erika Paul Carlson busy with diverse concerts and music activities. On Sunday, July 11th, Erika was the featured artist on KUNR-FM 88.7 radio at 3 p.m. in an interview with Danna O’Connor on the program Community Voices. In July, Erika was also interviewed for SNCAT-TV by Willie Albright. On Wednesday, July 14th, Erika joined forces with Artown, Sierra Arts, the Arbors, Lynette Schweigert of Moments of Memory and altzheimer’s residents for her Breath Of Hope event from 2 to 5 p.m. On Thursday, July 15th, Erika’s quartet, featuring Ed Easton on tenor sax, Chuck DiLaura on bass, Chuck Hughes on drums and Erika on piano and vocals joined forces with visual artists Erik Holland, Lynette Schweigert, photographer Lana March and Steinway Gallery Reno for her Artown “Jazz Moods & Art III” event from 6 to 8 p.m. featuring live jazz, poetry, art, photography and original music. Erika’s July Wild River Grille dates were Friday, July 9th, Thursday, July 22nd, Sunday, July 25th (cancelled due to thunderstorms and rescheduled for 7/28) and this Wednesday, July 28th from 7 to 10 p.m. On Sunday, July 18th, Erika also had the honor to play with her trio and also accompany one of the senator’s singing nieces at the NACo Arts Awards Dinner at Cathexes in the Collaborative at 250 Bell in Reno, NV, a national arts awards event and fundraiser organized by the Nevada Arts Council and Sierra Arts. Erika will finish off the month with a heartfelt sing-a-long concert at the Fountains Elder Care facility in Reno at 3 p.m. Erika loves to make time to serve the community whenever she can, especially to serve our schools and seniors who otherwise might not make it out to concert or gig.
